Terms of use

Last updated: 21 September 2026

Draft: these terms have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. Details in highlighted brackets are still to be filled in on the admin page.

These terms are the agreement between you and [REGISTERED BUSINESS NAME] ("we"), who run Bookepa. By using Bookepa you agree to them. We have kept them short and plain on purpose. Our privacy notice explains how we handle your information and is part of this agreement.

What Bookepa is

Bookepa is an app for writing down your sales, spending, stock, and the money people owe you and you owe others, and for seeing totals by day, week, month and year. It is a record-keeping tool. It is not accounting, tax or legal advice, and it does not file anything with the Ghana Revenue Authority or anyone else for you.

Paying for Bookepa

When your paid time ends

If you do not renew, your account becomes read-only. You can still sign in and see everything you wrote down, but you cannot add or change anything until you pay. We keep your records for 12 months after your paid time ends, then delete them, as our privacy notice explains. Ask us before then if you want a copy.

Your records are yours

Everything you write into Bookepa belongs to you. We store it so you can use it, and we do not sell it or share it except as our privacy notice says. You can ask us for a copy at any time.

You are responsible for what you write down, including the names and phone numbers of your customers. Only write down what you need, and use your customers' numbers only for the reason they gave them to you, such as reminding them of what they owe.

Keeping your account safe

Fair use

Do not use Bookepa to break the law, to try to get into anyone else's account, or to overload or damage the service. We may suspend an account that does, or that has not paid. We will tell you why, and we will not delete your records because of a suspension.

Keeping the service running

We work to keep Bookepa available and your records safe, and we keep backups. The app saves entries on your phone when there is no signal and sends them when there is. Sometimes we will need to stop the service for a short time to update it, and things outside our control, such as internet or power failures, can interrupt it. We do not promise the service will never be interrupted.

Limits on what we are responsible for

Bookepa shows you figures based on what you write down. Decisions you make about your business are yours. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for lost profit or other indirect losses, and if we are responsible for a loss, the most we will pay is what you paid us for Bookepa in the 12 months before it happened. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Ghanaian law that cannot be taken away.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update this page and tell you on WhatsApp at least 14 days before the change takes effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using Bookepa and ask for a copy of your records.

Law and disagreements

These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana. If we disagree about something, we will first try to settle it by talking. If that fails, it will be decided by the courts of Ghana.
